Ipswich Town forward Aaron Drinan set for two-month spell out of action

Ipswich Town have been rocked by the news that striker Aaron Drinan could spend the next two months on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

The 22-year-old, who only made his competitive debut for the club earlier this month, suffered the problem during last weekend's season-opening 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic .

Town boss Paul Lambert told the media this morning: "It's a real shame for Aaron. He's done brilliantly since he came in, and this is a blow for him.

"He'll be out for a couple of months. That's football and sometimes you get unlucky. We have to just get on with it, and hopefully he's back sooner rather than later.

"Nobody thought we'd be talking about Aaron at this stage of the season but he was terrific in training so I thought 'I'll give you a chance' and he took it. He was playing well but these things can happen and we wish him a speedy recovery."
