Ipswich Town loan goalkeeper Tomas Holy to Cambridge United
Ipswich Town goalkeeper Tomas Holy has joined Cambridge United on an emergency seven-day loan.
Ordinarily players cannot move between clubs once transfer windows have shut, but there are exceptions with regards to teams being unable to field a senior 'keeper.
And with Cambridge's number one Dimitar Mitov currently sidelined due to a concussion protocol, they have been granted permission to bring in former Czech Republic youth international Holy from Ipswich.
The 29-year-old joined the Tractor Boys in 2019 from Gillingham, but he has fallen down the pecking order at Portman Road behind his fellow countryman Vaclav Hladky and Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Christian Walton.
Holy could make his Cambridge debut tonight at Doncaster Rovers, while he will also be with the U's for Saturday's home encounter against AFC Wimbledon.
