Ipswich Town manager Paul Cook eyeing further additions to squad before transfer deadline
Manager Paul Cook has revealed that a busy summer of incomings at Ipswich Town may not be over quite yet.
A hectic off-season of recruitment has seen Cook bring in 16 new players at Portman Road – some of whom required transfer fees, while others were free agents or loan additions.
However, with Tuesday's transfer deadline fast approaching, the Tractor Boys boss is still in the market for more.
TWTD quotes the Liverpudlian as saying: “Listen, we’ve been working so hard, Mark (Ashton, chief executive) Luke (Werhun, chief operations officer), Andy (Rolls, head of performance), everyone at the club has worked so hard over the last few months they really have.
“As we come up to transfer deadline day, will we do more business? I feel we will. If we don’t do more business will we be happy? One hundred per cent.
“We’ve had amazing support from our owners, absolutely in terms of recruiting players brought in, staff, everything. The reality is that when that window closes, that will be the door shut and we need start getting on the road to run.
“If we can get on that road quicker with everyone in place and fit and healthy, then the reality is we’re going to get to where we want to be quicker."
