Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert all out of excuses with squad looking strong
With quality coming back from injury and the arrivals of both Luke Thomas and Josh Harrop, you have to feel Paul Lambert is all out of excuses.
The once depleted and rather thin on the ground squad has been boosted by what looks two top draw signings, and if they’re used correctly they could be fantastic additions.
Luke is a quick, direct winger hungry to score goals and create chances and Josh is a classy, clever midfielder who can win you a game. Keep them both fit and we’ll look much stronger.
Last week I announced the cancellation of my season ticket which, as expected, was greeted with mix reviews.
On the whole, the majority of Ipswich fans and fellow season ticket holders agreed with me and supported my decision and it appeared that supporters of other clubs who kindly read this were the ones a little bemused, which I completely understand.
We need to take action and the only way to hurt our owner is in the pocket.
Now, if we weren’t in a pandemic and we were still allowed into Portman Road and away grounds, would I have cancelled my season ticket? Not so sure.
For now, paying a monthly fee for clueless football managed by a clueless manager that I can only watch on my laptop, makes it a lot easier to throw away.
We all bleed blue and anybody who was born in Suffolk or associated with the club will know how proud and historic this famous club is, making it so easy to fall in love with. So I’ll always be open to debate and listen to those who share a differing opinion, but I won’t accept anybody questioning my love or loyalty for the club or any Town fans’ for that matter.
Saturday’s game with Peterborough is, like every single game left this season, gigantic.
Form suggests it’s difficult to see anything other than another home loss, but could this be the weekend it all changes for us? You never know...
