Highly-rated teenage Ipswich Town defender Elkan Baggott has completed a temporary move to King's Lynn Town.

The Indonesia Under-19 international has signed a deal which will see him remain with the National League outfit until the end of this season.

Baggott reportedly captured the attention Premier League outfits Leeds United and West Ham United before signing his first professional contract with the club at the end of January.

The 18-year-old defender, who made his senior debut earlier this season against Gillingham in the Papa John’s Trophy, has been one of the key players in Town Under-18s' run in the FA Youth Cup.

Baggott has been tipped for a big future at Portman Road and has recently been called into Indonesia's U19s for the first time.

The Linnets find themselves in the bottom three of the National League but there is no relegation from the fifth-tier this season due to the severe impact Covid-19 has had on the non-league game.

The Norfolk side's defence has been left decimated by a number of injuries while a number of other players have been furloughed to ease the burden on the club's finances at a time when crowds are still unable to attend games.

Baggott could make his Lynn debut at Altrincham tomorrow night.

He teams up with former Town Under-23s captain Chris Smith, who joined the Norfolk side after leaving the Blues’ academy.
