LEARN MOREIpswich Town’s first game of the Sky Bet League One season, against Wigan Athletic, will now be played a day later on Sunday, September 13 and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
The match kicks off at midday and is the first League One game to be shown live by the satellite broadcaster in the 2020/21 campaign.
Wigan are just down from the Championship. They would have finished the season in mid-table after an impressive run-in but a 12 point deduction for going into administration saw them drop into the relegation zone.
Although the game is being broadcast live by Sky, the club have announced Town season ticket holders will receive free access to watch the game on the iFollow service.
The Blues will have already been in competitive action with their 2020/21 campaign kicking off with the visit of divisional rivals Bristol Rovers in the Carabao (EFL) Cup on Saturday, September 5 (3pm).
