Ipswich Town vs Fulham team news: Kieran McKenna hands first league starts to Kalvin Phillips and Chiedozie Ogbene as nine changes made from AFC Wimbledon defeat
Boss Kieran McKenna has handed first league starts in Ipswich Town colours to Kalvin Phillips and Chiedozie Ogbene for the visit of Fulham this afternoon (3pm).
The duo are the only two players who remain from the side that started the Blues’ Carabao Cup exit to AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday night, as the Town boss makes nine changes for his team’s third Premier League match of the season.
Aro Muric returns in between the sticks and McKenna has changed his entire back four from the trip to the Cherry Records Stadium – with Leif Davis, Luke Woolfenden, Jacob Greaves and Axel Tuanzebe replacing Ben Johnson, Dara O’Shea, Cameron Burgess and Conor Townsend.
Phillips is partnered by skipper Sam Morsy in midfield, who was rested in midweek, with Omari Hutchinson, Sammie Szmodics and Ogbene in front of them.
Liam Delap starts ahead of Ali Al-Hamadi while Jack Taylor and Burgess miss out all together.
