Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna doesn’t expect any more signings during the January transfer window

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna is not expecting any more movement before the transfer window closes – but it won’t be for the want of trying.

The deadline for new signings for the second half of the Premier League campaign is 11pm on Monday.

Town have already made added three new faces to the squad in the form of Ben Godfrey, Jaden Philogene and Julio Enciso this month.

But, as things stand, McKenna isn’t anticipating any further activity.

“I don’t think you ever feel like you’ve done enough as such,” he said. “We tried to improve the squad, the three have certainly improved the squad.

“We’re in a better position than we were on the first of January. Of course, we want the squad to be as strong as possible (and) in an ideal world there could have been 1 or 2 pieces of movement but it’s a really difficult window.

“If that’s the end of it then we’ll crack on with a competitive squad who can fight and perform to the end of the season. If we can get any late additions that can bring us to another level then we’ll try and do so.

“I wouldn’t expect there will be any more outgoings, you can never say never but I wouldn’t expect anymore.

“My gut feeling is that squad is there or thereabouts where it’s going to be. That doesn’t mean the club isn’t working very hard on different situations to see if there’s an area where we can improve.

“The players that we’ve got here is most likely what we’ll go through to the end of the season with.”
