Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna rubbishes speculation linking him with manager’s job at Scottish Premiership giants Rangers
Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has dismissed recent speculation that he has held conversations over the managerial vacancy at Rangers.
Reports have claimed that McKenna was under consideration for the job at Ibrox following the departure of former Norwich City defender Russell Martin earlier this month.
Steven Gerrard is thought to have rejected the opportunity to return to the Scottish giants, which intensified rumours that McKenna could be lured north of the border.
However, McKenna emphatically denied those suggestions during his pre-match press duties ahead of Friday’s trip to Middlesbrough.
When asked about the speculation, the 39-year-old replied: “There’s no shred of truth in that.”
Former Australia international Kevin Muscat is currently thought to be the frontrunner to be the next Gers boss.
