Ipswich Town: Blues goalkeeper Aro Muric responds after expulsion from Kosovo national team squad

Ipswich Town goalkeeper Aro Muric has said his expulsion from the Kosovo squad along with two team-mates was not fair.

The FKK, the Kosovan FA, announced that Muric, Edon Zhegrova and Florent Muslija had been dismissed from the squad before yesterday’s game against Cyprus for breaking rules they and manager Franco Foda had set.

According to reports, the FKK took the action after the trio stayed out too late in night clubs, not for the first time.

However, Muric has disputed that version of events.

He said to Kosovan newspaper Klan Kosova: “The decision made against us was not fair at all and the rumours that are circulating are not true at all.”

The FFK executive committee is set to decide whether any further action is taken against the trio.

Muric has been nominated for Premier League Save of the Month award for August, following his quick reactions against Manchester City’s Erling Haaland powerful header.

The 25-year-old joined from Burnley for a reported £8 million fee in the summer and has played two of the three opening league games.

Blues keeper Christopher Walton has also signed a new deal at Portman Road.

The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal, extending his stay at Portman Road until at least the summer of 2026.
