Manchester United encouraged to consider signing Ipswich Town defender Leif Davis or Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth by former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood
Tim Sherwood believes that Leif Davis would be a good solution to Manchester United’s problems at left wing-back.
Since his appointment as the Red Devils boss in November, Ruben Amorim has deployed a 3-5-2 formation.
However, Luke Shaw’s persistent fitness issues have often left the team looking unbalanced, with the right-footed Diogo Dalot or Noussair Mazraoui often selected to fill the void in the absence of the England international.
And Sherwood has touted Ipswich Town’s Davis – along with AFC Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez – as potential options to provide some ‘balance’.
Writing on Discasino, Sherwood, who has previously managed Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa in the Premier League, said: “I’ll give you two names Manchester United can target if they decide to invest in the position: Milos Kirkez of Bournemouth and Leif Davis at Ipswich.
“Kirkez will be difficult because I can see Liverpool making a move for him after Richard Hughes joined as a sporting director, but I think he would suit Manchester United as well.
“Davis would be gettable from Ipswich. He’s been really impressive for them this season and he’d give Man United balance going forward on the left-hand side, so he’s another option to consider.”
Davis, who joined Ipswich from Leeds United in 2022, has contributed one goal and three assists during his 21 top-flight appearances this season.
