Ipswich Town striker Joe Pigott credited with goal during loss at Burton Albion
Joe Pigott has been awarded Ipswich Town's goal during the 2-1 defeat at Burton Albion earlier this month.
The 23rd-minute goal – which drew the Tractor Boys level at the Pirelli Stadium – had initially been attributed to Burton's Tom O'Connor, who it was claimed had got the final touch to Lee Evans' cross.
However, following a review by the Dubious Goal Panel, it has now been credited to summer signing Pigott – making it his first goal in Ipswich colours.
The striker told the Ipswich website: "It was my goal, the defender flicked it on to me.
"My celebration might of been muted as I wanted to get the ball so we could keep the momentum."
Pigott and his team-mates, who are without a win so far in 2021/22, are next in action against his former club AFC Wimbledon at Portman Road on Saturday (3pm).
