Tete Yengi signs new one-and-a-half year contract with Ipswich Town and joins Northampton Town on loan

Ipswich Town striker Tete Yengi has penned a new one-and-a-half year deal and joined Northampton Town on loan for the rest of the 2022/23 season.

The 22-year-old signed for the Tractor Boys from Australian A-League side Newcastle Jets in 2021, and has been a regular in Town's Under-21s.

The Australian forward went out on loan to Finnish outfit Vaasan Palloseura over the summer, where he contributed with seven goals and 11 assists in 27 matches, before returning to Suffolk in early December.

Yengi, who has yet to make his debut for Town's first team, will now look for more senior game time with Sky Bet League Two promotion-chasers Northampton.

The Cobblers are sat in the promotion places in League Two, in third spot, and their new loan signing could make his first appearance when they host Walsall this Saturday.
