Ipswich Town: Defender Ben Johnson included in computer’s highest scoring FPL side for 2024/25 Premier League season

A surprise Ipswich Town player has been included in a computer’s highest scoring FPL side prediction for the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Millions of FPL players are currently picking players for their sides ahead of the league’s opening fixture on Friday, August 16 with Manchester United hosting Fulham.

Instant Casinos have used an AI tool to predict the squad which will tally the most points in the coming season, with Blues defender Ben Johnson one of the names featured.

The 24-year-old, who signed as a free agent after leaving West Ham in the summer and costs £4m in the game, has been selected by the computer for a spot on the bench.

On the opposite flank, left-back Leif Davis (£4.5m) misses out as does last year’s loan star Omari Hutchinson (£5.5m).

Manchester City's goal machine Erling Haaland costs a record £15m in this season's version of the game after securing 27 goals and eight assists in the previous campaign, racking up 217 points in total.

The computer predicts that a 3-5-2 formation will prove the most successful this year.

The full AI picked squad is:

Keeper: Emiliano Martinez – Aston Villa (£5m)

Defenders: Ben White – Arsenal (£6.5m), Fabian Schar – Newcastle (£5.5m), Kieran Trippier – Newcastle (£6m)

Midfielders: Eberechi Eze – Crystal Palace (£7m), Gabriel Martinelli – Arsenal (£7m), Jarrod Bowen – West Ham (£7.5m), Marcus Rashford – Manchester United (£7m), Luis Diaz – Liverpool (£7.5m)

Strikers: Erling Haaland – Manchester City (£15m), Alexander Isak – Newcastle (£7.5m)

Subs: GK: Matthew Turner – Nottingham Forest (£4m), DEF: Ben Johnson – Ipswich (£4m), MID: Amadou Onana – Aston Villa (£5m), FWD: Joao Pedro – Brighton (£5.5m)
