Idris El Mizouni departs Ipswich Town for Oxford United as ticket details announced for Fortuna Düsseldorf friendly

Idris El Mizouni has departed Ipswich Town for a move to newly-promoted Sky Bet Championship outfit Oxford United.

Reports, including from SuffolkNews’ media partners TWTD, claim the fee is believed to be £400,000.

The 23-year-old midfielder made 26 appearances for the Blues, but during his time at Town the once-capped Tunisia international had five loan spells away from Portman Road.

Most recently, El Mizouni spent the last two seasons on loan at League One side Leyton Orient – helping them win League Two and then achieve an 11th-placed finish in the third tier last term.

“I’m absolutely delighted to join the club. It’s a solid club that has made a step up to the Championship and it was very attractive to me,” said El Mizouni, a former Cambridge United loanee, speaking to Oxford’s club website.

“It’s a team that always likes to play football and I want to be a part of that and move upwards with the club.

“I want to prove myself as a player and prove to everyone that I can play at this level. More importantly, I want to help the club achieve their ambitions.”
