Ipswich Town promotion hero Omari Hutchinson nominated for Goal of the Month Award for stunning strike against Hull City

Omari Hutchinson’s first sensational curling strike against Hull City has been nominated for April’s Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month Award.

The winger, who was on loan at Ipswich Town and achieved promotion back to the Premier League with the Blues last season, but has now returned to his parent club Chelsea, scored a brace at the MKM Stadium in Kieran McKenna’s side’s scintillating 3-3 draw with the Tigers on April 27.

The 20-year-old’s first of the night – that was scored on the stroke of half-time – has earned him the nomination for the accolade. He received the ball on the right corner of the penalty area before cutting in on his left foot and curling a phenomenal effort into the top-left corner – leaving Hull goalkeeper Ryan Allsop with no chance.

That goal restored Town’s lead in the contest, as they headed into the break with a 2-1 lead in a crucial match in the race for promotion.

The other nominations are Ryan Longman’s perfectly-placed curler for Millwall against Leicester City, Josh Windass’ long-range audacious effort for Sheffield Wednesday at Blackburn and Emmanuel Latte Lath’s impressive back header for Middlesbrough against Leeds United.
