Ipswich Town reveal new home and away kits for Premier League return in 2024/25

Ipswich Town have revealed their eagerly-anticipated home and away kits for their first Premier League season in 22 years with a return to an iconic pinstripe design on their first-choice strip.

For a third straight year the Umbro-made shirts feature Suffolk superstar Ed Sheeran’s Mathematics logo on the front.

It’s a return to a darker shade of blue with a white pinstripe running through that echoes the shirt famously worn by Sir Bobby Robson’s 1981/82 UEFA Cup-winning side that ended up as runners-up in the top flight and continued for the next two seasons. It was also echoed in the shirts worn in the 2007/08 and 2011/12 campaigns.

The away kit is maroon with a navy blue trim and gold embroidery and badges that has a Barcelona vibe like the popular burgundy one is 2015/16 that featured Marcus Evans’ logo on the front and inspired the 2019/20 ‘Magical Vegas’ sponsored one.

A club description of the first-choice kit said: “The home shirt represents the pride both players and supporters feel for Town.

“Players are proud to play for the club and this is shown by bringing the badge out of the shirt and highlighting the crest with a shield surround.

“In line with Umbro’s 100-year anniversary, the shirt has a heritage feel with the original Umbro diamond utilising a red centre, balanced nicely with the red in the Town crest.

“White pinstripes are incorporated into the home shirt for the first time in almost 10 years and a navy trim on the sleeves gives the shirt a clean look.

“The kit is complete with white shorts and blue socks.”

On the away kit, the club said: “The away shirt represents pride in the town, and how the club’s success positively impacts the whole of Ipswich.

“The town centre, along with bars, coffee shops and restaurants are full on matchdays, with almost 30,000 supporters then making their way to Portman Road.

“This is shown on the shirt by highlighting the stadium full of fans.

“Small portions of supporters waving flags have been captured to create a unique print and graphic that runs through the shirt.

“The tonal gold crest, Umbro diamond and sponsor give the shirt a proud finish and contrast nicely to the maroon base.

“2024 is also the year Umbro celebrates its 100th anniversary with a special kit design, the diamond grid.

“It seamlessly blends progressive design with the heritage of the brand and the club – a true collaboration which celebrates Umbro's history and tells the club’s story.

“A navy trim, just like on the home shirt, connects the two strips. The away kit is complete with maroon shorts and socks, both of which incorporate the navy trim.”

The two kits, which were exclusively revealed to Town TV subscribers on a special show this morning, are now available to purchase, both in the Planet Blue store at Portman Road via the club shop here.

Planet Blue will be open from 10.30am until 5pm today (Saturday, July 6) then from 10am until 4pm on Sunday before normal opening hours from Monday.

Shirt printing with names from the men’s and women’s teams will not be available until the club has announced squad numbers for the 2024/25 season.
