Ipswich Town: Kieran McKenna linked to Celtic and Leicester manager jobs

Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has been linked to vacancies at two clubs in the UK.

According to the Daily Record, the Blues boss could ‘come into the equation’ after Ange Postecoglou moved from Scottish giants Celtic to Premier League side Tottenham yesterday.

Following the departure of the Australian manager, the club are considering their options and taking applications, with Manchester City assistant manager Enzo Maresca currently ‘a major contender’.

Other names linked to the role are Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked by Leicester in April, Graham Potter, sacked by Chelsea also in April, and Bodo Glimt’s Kjetil Knutsen.

Leicester are also looking to appoint their next permanent manager and join Ipswich Town in the Championship following their relegation from the top division.

Caretaker boss Dean Smith was unable to keep the Foxes up, and The Telegraph has reported that McKenna, as well as Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker, are also ‘in the frame’ for the vacancy.

Town are set to kick-off their pre-season warm-up matches soon against Suffolk Non-League side Felixstowe & Walton United on Saturday, July 1.
