Ipswich Town: Striker George Hirst reveals eye injury he suffered from Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin
Ipswich Town striker George Hirst has revealed the damage he suffered to his eye after a duel in the club’s win against Tottenham Hotspur.
The frontman had been left on the floor in pain needing medical treatment after an aerial battle with Spurs defender Radu Dragusin, just before the final whistle blew and the Blues celebrated their three points.
Hirst had come off the bench in the 70th minute to help Kieran McKenna’s men to their first win in the Premier League this season and left the field with his head heavily bandaged.
The 25-year-old had also felt something in his knee in the 80th minute, only 10 minutes after coming on, but continued playing.
Hirst showed the damage to his left eye on social media.
After the match, Blues boss McKenna said: “He seems okay, he’s got a big bandage on his head, he’s in good spirits.
“He had a knock on his knee as well, which I’m sure they’ll check out but he seems to be moving pretty well.”
Town’s next fixture sees them come up against Manchester United on Sunday, November 24, with new manager Rúben Amorim taking charge of the Red Devils for the first time.
