Ipswich Town sign Plymouth Argyle midfielder Panutche Camará on a two-year deal

Ipswich Town have completed their second signing of transfer deadline day.

A matter of minutes after the Tractor Boys announced the addition of striker Gassan Ahadme from Burton Albion they have confirmed the arrival of Panutche Camará.

The midfielder has joined Town from Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with the club having the option to extend those terms by a further 12 months.

Born in Canchungo, Guinea-Bissau, Camará played youth football with Portuguese sides Loures and Vitoria de Guimaraes before signing for Barnsley, where he represented their youth sides.

In 2017 he then signed for Dulwich Hamlet, where he scored four goals in 15 appearances.

In June later that year he made the move to Crawley Town, and scored his first goal for the club on his debut away to Birmingham City in the League Cup. In three seasons for the Red Devils he made 118 appearances and found the back of the net on seven occasions.

August 2020 saw Camará make the switch to Plymouth and just one month later he netted his first goal for The Pilgrims in a League Cup clash with Leyton Orient.

The 25-year-old departs Home Park having scored 10 times in almost 100 appearances across all competitions.

“This is a great opportunity for me,” the new addition told iFollow Ipswich. “Everything has come about very quickly, but it was really good to speak to the manager and I appreciate how he wants me here.

“He told me good things about the team and he knows what I can bring to the squad. I have enjoyed my time in English football but I am looking forward to this next step.

“I am so happy to be here. I can’t wait to get started and meet the fans, as well as everyone that is part of the club.”

Camará will wear the number 28 shirt during his time with Ipswich.
