Ipswich Town confirm permanent transfer of former Ajax youngster Azor Matusiwa from Ligue 1 side Rennes
Azor Matusiwa has become Ipswich Town’s second signing of the day.
Fresh from announcing the loan arrival of Cedric Kipre this afternoon, the Tractor Boys have now confirmed the permanent addition of Matusiwa.
The midfielder, who turned 27 in April, has arrived from Ligue 1 outfit Rennes for a fee believed to be in the region of £7.8m.
After putting pen to paper on a four-year deal at Portman Road, Matusiwa told the club’s website: “I'm a person who likes to feel things and it felt immediately very good. In this moment I felt this is the club where I had to be.”
Having come through the ranks at Dutch giants Ajax, the former Netherlands youth international went on to have spells with Groningen and Reims before switching to Rennes in January 2024.
