Ipswich Town close to completing transfer of FC Nordsjælland and Norway forward Sindre Walle Egeli

Manager Kieran McKenna has confirmed that Ipswich Town’s move to bring in FC Nordsjælland forward Sindre Walle Egeli is ‘progressing well’.

Earlier today it was reported that the 19-year-old Norway international had flown to England to put the finishing touches to a transfer that is likely to be worth upwards of £15m.

McKenna usually opts against commenting on any transfer speculation, but with the deal so near to completion, he said: “I think it’s progressing well, I’ll tell you because it’s close to the window.

“He’s a player that we like, we think has big potential. The player likes us, and that’s fantastic as well that this is now seen as a really good club for young talent to come to.

“Both parties are working pretty hard on it and hopefully we’ll have a positive announcement on that.”

Egeli has scored 11 goals from 43 appearances for his Danish employers.
