Ipswich Town reportedly on the verge of signing West Bromwich Albion's former England youth international Rekeem Harper

Ipswich Town are reportedly close to completing the signing of West Bromwich Albion midfielder Rekeem Harper.

According to TWTD, the 21-year-old, who has risen through the ranks at The Hawthorns, will cost the Tractor Boys in the region of £500,000.

Harper made his Premier League debut aged 17 in 2017 during a clash against AFC Bournemouth, and in doing so become just the second player born in the 2000s to feature in England's top flight.

More recently, Harper has had loan spells at Championship outfits Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City – the latter stint coming towards the back end of last season.

Should the former England youth international complete a switch to Portman Road he will become manager Paul Cook's third signing of the summer after the arrivals of Wes Burns and Lee Evans.

Town are also being linked with a host of other players, including Rotherham United's Matt Crooks and a trio from fellow League One outfit Sunderland.

However, it has been reported that goalkeeper target Caoimhin Kelleher will be remaining at Liverpool following links regarding a loan move.
