Ipswich Town could renew Bersant Celina interest after collapse of move to Turkish club Kasımpaşa
Ipswich Town could reportedly renew their interest in Bersant Celina after his expected move to Kasımpaşa was said to have fallen through this lunchtime.
The Tractor Boys were believed to have been keen to bring Celina back to Portman Road for a third loan spell this summer, only for those hopes to be dashed yesterday when speculation emerged that he was travelling to Turkey to finalise a season-long loan switch from Dijon.
However, having arrived in Istanbul to go through the final formalities, the deal has now hit the buffers, according to TWTD.
The report adds that since signing Marcus Harness, who can play in similar positions to Celina, on Friday, there has been no further contact between Ipswich and the Kosovo international's representatives.
Whether the collapse of the Kasımpaşa switch prompts the Suffolk side to revisit a potential swoop remains to be seen, with the likes of Preston North End and Stoke City having also been mooted as potential suitors in recent weeks.
Another Turkish club – Antalyaspor – are also thought to have pondered a move for Celina earlier this summer.
The attacker, who has two years remaining on his contract with French Ligue 2 side Dijon, scored six goals from 35 appearances while on loan at Ipswich last term.
