Ipswich Town and Celtic reportedly plotting a move for Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist

Ipswich Town are reportedly in a battle with Scottish giants Celtic to sign Benjamin Siegrist.

The goalkeeper, who won the Under-17 World Cup with Switzerland in 2009, is currently on the books of Dundee United.

Siegrist made 36 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Premiership outfit in 2020/21, but according to Swiss publication Blick, he could now be on the move this summer.

The report adds that while Celtic are plotting a bid in the region of £500,000 to £1million, Ipswich are also in the running.

A switch to Celtic Park would provide the 29-year-old with European football, but he is likely to have competition for the number one shirt. In contrast, he would almost certainly be first choice should he move south to Portman Road.

Siegrist's performances this season earned him the Players' Player of the Year award at Dundee United.
