Liverpool have no plans to let reported Ipswich Town transfer target Caoimhin Kelleher leave this summer
Liverpool reportedly have no intention of allowing Caoimhin Kelleher to leave the club this summer.
Recent speculation claimed that the 22-year-old goalkeeper could be made available for loan for the upcoming 2021/22 campaign, which was said to have captured the attention of Ipswich Town manager Paul Cook.
It is thought Cook will be in the market for two new goalkeepers during the coming weeks, with both of the club's current glovemen – Tomas Holy and Dai Cornell – tipped to move on.
However, according to the Liverpool Echo, Kelleher will not be arriving at Portman Road – nor anywhere else.
The publication adds that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp wants the Cork-born 'keeper to remain at Anfield next term to provide back up to current number one Alisson. It is further believed that a new contract could be in the offing.
The highly thought of custodian made his senior international debut as a half-time substitute for the Republic of Ireland last night and kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Hungary.
