Ipswich Town: Manchester City striker Liam Delap passes Blues medical and agrees terms

Manchester City striker Liam Delap has reportedly passed a medical and agreed terms with Ipswich Town.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Sky Bet Championship side Hull City and scored eight goals in 32 appearances, as the Tigers finished three points outside the play-off places.

Earlier this week, SuffolkNews’ media partners TWTD reported that Delap looked around Portman Road, while making similar trips to other clubs including Southampton and subsequently a deal of £15m plus a further £5 million in add-ons was agreed with Manchester City.

TWTD understands Delap has now passed a medical and terms have been agreed to join Kieran McKenna’s side.

The deal includes a sell-on of about 20 per cent and a buyback clause, while Delap’s former academy club Derby County will receive a sell-on percentage from the move.

Delap, who is the son of former Stoke long throw expert Rory, has made two sub appearances in the Premier League as well as four cup appearances, scoring three goals.

The England Under-21 international is one of three members of last season’s Hull City squad being targeted by the Blues this summer with Town’s double bid for winger Jaden Philogene and central defender Jacob Greaves ongoing.
