Ipswich Town plotting loan move for young midfielder Brett McGavin

Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert has confirmed he is looking to loan out Brett McGavin.

The young midfielder, who had a loan spell with his hometown club Bury Town a couple of seasons back, signed a new two-year contract at Portman Road earlier this week.

And former Scotland international Lambert – himself a midfielder during his playing days – believes the 20-year-old would 'benefit' from a temporary stint getting regular minutes under his belt.

“It’s great that he’s signed the contract. He’s a talented midfielder," Lambert told the press.

“I think now we might look at Brett going on loan. I think it’s the right time for him and would benefit him.”

McGavin has made four senior appearances for the Tractor Boys.
