Ipswich Town reportedly close in on West Bromwich Albion's former England youth international Rekeem Harper
West Bromwich Albion midfielder Rekeem Harper has reportedly undergone a medical ahead of his proposed switch to Ipswich Town.
The 21-year-old was linked with a move to the Tractor Boys last week in a deal that is thought to be worth around £1 million if all clauses are met.
And according to the Express & Star, talks have progressed between the two clubs over the weekend, leading to the former England youth international being put through his paces by Ipswich's medical team.
The report adds that the Tractor Boys initially contacted West Brom with regards to Harper's availability on loan, only to be informed that a permanent transfer was possible.
It is thought Ipswich will part with £500,000 up front before a number of various bonuses potentially kick in.
Harper would become Ipswich manager Paul Cook's third signing of the summer after Lee Evans and Wes Burns arrived at Portman Road last week.
