Ipswich Town transfer target Jaden Philogene reveals intended Premier League move despite Barcelona ‘dream’
Reported Ipswich Town transfer target Jaden Philogene has confirmed that he will join a Premier League club.
Earlier this week the newly-promoted Tractor Boys were strongly linked with the Hull City winger, alongside the likes of Everton and Crystal Palace.
Spanish giants Barcelona were also credited with an interest in the 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals in the EFL Championship last term.
However, while Philogene has conceded that it remains his ‘dream’ to wear the Barcelona shirt one day, he has instead accepted an offer to join an unnamed top flight club in England.
Speaking to SER Catalunya's Què t'hi Jugues, the England youth international said: “La Liga (and Barcelona) is still my dream but the clearest option that was presented to me is this (the Premier League) and that is what we are focused on.
“Since the beginning of my career, my idols are (former Barcelona players) Ronaldinho and Neymar and I want to follow in their footsteps (one day).”
As well as Philogene, Ipswich are also believed to be interested in signing his Hull team-mate Jacob Greaves in a joint deal said to be worth in the region of £35m.
