Ipswich Town target Bersant Celina reportedly wanted by Stoke City
Stoke City are reportedly the current favourites to sign Dijon winger Bersant Celina.
The playmaker spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town, scoring six goals from 35 appearances in what was his second spell with the Suffolk club.
It is widely believed that Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna is keen for the Kosovo international to be part of his squad again in 2022/23, with talks between all of the necessary parties thought to have taken place.
However, according to TWTD, it is Championship outfit Stoke that lead the race for the 25-year-old's signature as it stands.
The report adds that the Potters have proposed to take Celina on a season-long loan deal with the view to a permanent transfer.
Speaking to BBC Radio Suffolk in March, Celina – who has two years remaining on his Dijon contract – was asked if a return to Ipswich centred on the club being promoted back to the Championship. He replied: "No, it doesn't have to be.
"Obviously it's what we want. If it doesn't happen this season then I think, with the manager we have now, we will do it next season.
"I definitely want to come back to England and I definitely want to come back here. I've played a lot of games for this club and I really feel at home here. I'm happy."
The former Manchester City youngster also discussed his relationship with McKenna, saying: "You can see he trusts me a lot and I trust him. It's what the team needed and what I needed - a manager like this that wants us to play. It's just been perfect for me."
