Ipswich Town reportedly make late transfer bid to battle Besiktas for Sweden international Jens Cajuste
Ipswich Town have reportedly made a late approach to bring Jens Cajuste back to Suffolk.
Recent widespread reports suggested that the Swedish midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Portman Road, was closing in on a move to Besiktas.
Speculation had even suggested that the 25-year-old’s current club Napoli had granted him permission to travel to Turkey to undergo a medical with the club that are managed by former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, this evening it has been claimed that one of Solskjaer’s coaches during his time in charge of United – Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna – is eager to be reunited with Cajuste.
According to Football Italia, the Tractor Boys have made a fresh 11th hour move to sign the Gothenburg-born player, who will now take some time to evaluate his options.
Cajuste, who joined Napoli from French side Reims in 2023, made 33 appearances in all competitions last term for Ipswich.
His contract with the Italian outfit is due to expire in the summer of 2028.
