Ipswich Town: Chelsea striker target Armando Broja set to join Everton and Fulham trump Blues to loan switch of Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson
Ipswich Town are not set to complete a 13th summer signing with two of their deadline day targets – striker Armando Broja and winger Reiss Nelson – now set to join Premier League rivals.
It is being reported by Sky Sports that Everton have submitted a deal sheet – giving them extra time to complete a transfer past the 11pm deadline – for a loan deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, who had undergone a medical in Suffolk last week.
The move for the Albanian international had dragged on after an Achilles injury came to light which is set to keep the 22-year-old sidelined for around seven weeks.
Meanwhile,SuffolkNews’ media partners TWTD have reported Town did make an enquiry to Middlesbrough regarding striker Emmanuel Latte Lath ‘but took the matter no further than that’.
They also said that the Blues made a ‘late move’ for Arsenal winger Nelson for a loan move but, despite Sky Sports reporting the 24-year-old had ‘chosen Ipswich’ ahead of Fulham, he is now set to join The Cottagers, who Town host in the Premier League tomorrow (3pm).
The close of the summer transfer window means Kieran McKenna has added 12 summer signings to his newly-promoted Premier League squad, while four departed on loans on transfer deadline day in striker Freddie Ladapo (mutual termination), youngster Leon Ayinde (Rochdale), winger Marcus Harness (Derby County) and defender George Edmundson (Middlesbrough).
