Ipswich Town submit €25m bid for Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis, claims Fabrizio Romano

Ipswich Town have reportedly submitted a €25m bid for Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis.

It was claimed by Greek newspaper Sport24 earlier this week that the Blues had a €22.5m bid rejected for the 24-year-old front man, but transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Town have submitted an improved ‘package bid’ for the Greece international.

Romano also claims that Bologna have offered Panathinaikos €18m plus €2m in add-ons, while sports journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos stated the Greece Super League 1 outfit want at least €30m.

It was also reported by Romano that he expects one more Premier League side to enter the race for the striker.

Ioannidis scored 15 goals in 28 matches for Panathinaikos last term and also provided seven assists to help his side to a fourth-placed finish.

He has been at the club for four seasons and has chalked up more than 100 goals in that time.

Ioannidis, who has 11 caps for Greece, moved to Panathinaikos from Levadiakos in 2020 – where he scored 48 goals in three campaigns.
