Ipswich Town are reportedly among Championship clubs tracking Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene

Ipswich Town have been credited with an interest in Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene.

According to the Daily Mail, Hull City are looking to wrap up a £5m move for the 21-year-old, who has made three Premier League appearances – including one this season.

However, the report adds that the Tractor Boys are among a batch of other Championship clubs that have been monitoring Philogene’s situation.

The former England youth international spent the previous campaign on loan in the second tier of English football with Cardiff City, for whom he scored five goals in 32 appearances in all competitions.

It is believed that Villa will only sanction Philogene’s exit if they are able to insert a buy-back clause into the deal.

Ipswich have not signed anyone since July 13 when they secured the services of George Hirst on a permanent basis from Leicester City.
