Kesgrave High School A-level results 2024: 31 per cent of pupils secure at least A grades
Staff at Kesgrave High School are thrilled with the achievements of their students as more than 30 per cent secured at least an A grade across its 40 subjects.
A-level and BTEC students picked up their results this morning, joining thousands of others across the county.
A* or A grades were secured by 31 per cent of pupils, while 76 per cent of all grades were A* to C.
Headteacher Julia Upton said pupils gained grades they should be proud of.
She said: “From their academic achievements and their personal growth, we know that this cohort of young people will take the next step into their adult life with confidence.”
Bucking a trend, three of Kesgrave’s top performers have decided to undergo apprenticeships degrees as their next step towards their chosen careers.
Elizabeth West, who gained two A*s and an A, is set to take an apprenticeship in computing, having faced a gruelling selection procedure to secure her role.
Arun Maudhoo, who was awarded two As and a Distinction*, is set to undertake his apprenticeship degree in marking, as is Lushan Maudhoo, who secured two A*s and a Distinction*.
Other top performers from the class of 2024 include Poppy Brown (4 As), who will attend the University of St Andrews to study computer science.
Tarek El Husseiny (one A*, two As) is off to Bath for a degree in economics, while Lauren Squirrell (three A*s, one A), will take a gap year before studying dentistry.
Phoebe Collinson (one A*, two As) will pursue a medicine course after her gap year; Molly Nicholson (two A*s, one A) will study sports science at Loughborough University; Sam Ling (two A*s, one A) is set to study business and Molly Howard (two A*s, one A) is off to York to study psychology.
Ms Upton added: “Students are progressing to a range of pathways, from secured work to university courses and highly competitive degree apprenticeships.
“This latter pathway is an increasingly desirable destination for students, securing both further learning and employment in the most prestigious firms.”
