Kesgrave dog attack sees Suffolk Police searching for owner
A beagle was attacked by another dog in a late night attack in Kesgrave yesterday.
The attack, between 10.50pm and 11.05pm, happened on Main Road in the town, between Dr Watsons Lane and the Ropes Drive roundabout as a man was out walking his dog.
As he was out on the late night walk another dog, which has been described as either a light brown Staffordshire bull or English mastiff-cross, ran towards him and attacked his dog.
The beagle sustained injuries to its chest before its owner was able to separate the the animals.
Neighbourhood police are now trying to find the dog's owner. They described her as white, about 5ft 5, who was in her late 40s to early 50s. She had light brown hair with blonde highlights, and was wearing navy cotton trousers, a grey long-sleeved top and a blue sleeveless body warmer.
A police spokesman said: "Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the South Safer Neighbourhood team at Suffolk Police quoting reference 38282/21."
