Kesgrave civil engineer and Breheny worker Robin Percy awarded for lifetime of service by Civil Engineering Contractors Association (Southern)
A civil engineer from Kesgrave described as a role model who always goes above and beyond to help others has been awarded for a lifetime of service.
Robin Percy secured a lifetime achievement award from the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA Southern) in celebration of his 47 years in the industry.
Mr Percy is a long-standing employee of Needham Market-based Breheny, with his current role being Environment Agency national framework manager and senior planner.
His commitment to his craft earned him the Outstanding Contribution to Industry Award at a ceremony hosted by CECA Southern.
He is dedicated to mentoring, advising and helping others.
In addition to his job, he is also a deacon and church secretary at Kesgrave Baptist Church.
This also sees him volunteer at Hollesley Bay prison.
He also led one of Breheny’s charity events last year, which saw a team cycle the perimeter of the Isle of Wight.
This raised £3,500 for Porchlight and its work rebuilding the lives of homeless people in Kent.
Alan Cox, chairman of CECA Southern, congratulated Mr Percy as he handed him his award.
He described him as a ‘role model’ to others within Breheny who always looked to help colleagues and who went the extra mile in everything he did.
Mr Cox added: “He has helped lift standards across the business by training and mentoring the future generation of employees.
“His legacy will be long lasting, both for his company and the wider civil engineering construction community.”
