Martlesham Creek swan attack prompts police search for killer dog




Police are on the hunt for a killer dog which attacked a swan in Martlesham.

A dark Labrador, believed to be called Chester, was seen jumping in the water at Martlesham Creek, off Sandy Lane, at around 1.40pm on Saturday.

The dog, which was off the lead, then chased a young swan before catching and killing it.

A witness has described its owners as a man and woman, both aged in their 60s.

The man was carrying a walking stick and wearing a brown coat, while the woman had long black hair and was wearing a green coat.

After the incident, they walked in the direction of St Mary's Church.

Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting reference 37/9937/21.
