Teenager due in court charged with shooting schoolboy in Kesgrave




A teenager is set to appear before a crown court judge today charged with the attempted murder of a schoolboy in Kesgrave.

The 15 year old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of shooting the boy in the Grange Farm area of the town on September 7.

The defendant has been charged with possession of a shotgun with intent to cause fear or injury and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life as well as attempted murder.

He is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court this afternoon.

An earlier plea hearing in December was adjourned to allow the teenager, who is from the Woodbridge area, to undergo psychiatric tests.

The victim, also 15, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge with life-changing injuries.
