Imperial Kennels, in Undley Common, Lakenheath, submits plans for new building to home greyhounds
A kennels has submitted plans for a new building to home greyhounds.
Mark Wallis, of Imperial Kennels, in Undley Common, Lakenheath, has sought permission from West Suffolk Council for the single-storey steel-framed building, which has a footprint of 580sqm.
It would replace two smaller kennel buildings at the site, which a planning statement said is a well-established kennel operation for about 40 greyhounds, with a 50 per cent split between racing and retired dogs.
It said Mr Wallis had been awarded GBGB Coach of the Year 14 times, ‘setting him apart as a true leader in the world of greyhound training’.
It added: “The principle of the site and the number of dogs will not vary due to this application, the only thing to change is that two dog kennel buildings will be combined into one.
“The new building will provide a modern and clean environment to the well cared for dogs in a building which only has a small increase in footprint.
“Access to the site will remain unaltered and there will be no increase in the number of vehicle movements to the site.”
