Boy suffers broken leg after stolen moped collides with car in Beccles Road, Lowestoft




A teenage boy has been left with a broken leg after a stolen moped on which he was riding crashed in Lowestoft.

The teenager was riding on the moped with another person at around 4.50pm yesterday in Stradbroke Road when they were spotted by police.

Just a few minutes later, the vehicle collided with a Renault Megane car in Tom Crisp Way.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment and the other rider of the moped fled the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured.

The red Honda moped, with the registration AU67 PXB, was reported stolen from a driveway in the town's Beccles Road just hours before the crash.

It is believed to have been taken at some point between 8am and 12.30pm.

Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting reference 31755/21.
