Britten Court in Lowestoft up for pair of care home catering awards
A Suffolk care home is celebrating after being nominated for a pair of prestigious national catering awards.
Britten Court, in Love Road, Lowestoft, has been nominated for Team of the Year in the Public Sector Catering Awards 2024 and has made it through to the finals of the Care Home Catering Awards.
Both awards celebrate the creativity of individuals and teams that work within the care sector.
Chloe Swarbrick, manager at the Care UK home, said: “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for two national catering awards – a true testament to the skill of our chefs.
“We are so proud of head chef Kamal Djedda, sous chef Andrew Golder and the expert kitchen team here – they make such a positive difference to everyone and cook some of the most delicious and nutritional food.
“They work hard every day and certainly deserve to be recognised nationally – we are all keeping our fingers crossed for multiple wins later this year.”
Judges of both awards said the team’s extensive knowledge of every residents’ food preferences and their commitment to ensuring food is tasty, well-presented and of a high quality made them really stand out from the crowd.
The Public Sector Catering Awards take place on April 4, at the Hilton London Metropole and the Care Home Catering Awards will take place on June 30, at the Royal Garden Hotel, in Kensington.
