Suffolk and Norfolk fire crews tackle roof fire at abandoned building in Waveney Drive, Lowestoft




Six crews have battled a fire which broke out at an abandoned building in a coastal town.

Suffolk and Norfolk fire services were called to reports of a roof fire at a derelict building in Waveney Drive, Lowestoft, at 8.15pm yesterday

Firefighters from Great Yarmouth, Southwold, North Lowestoft and Lowestoft South tackled the blaze.

The building is approximately 75 x 75 meters in size, according to a spokesperson for the fire service.

An inspection is due to start this morning.

There are no reported injuries.

The incident was dealt with by 10.20pm.
