Aldeburgh Boxing Day Swim

What could be more festive than joining the Aldeburgh Shiverers to take the plunge into the freezing cold sea to raise money for medical charities.

Their annual Boxing Day swim is extremely popular with local open water swimmers, with 125 people taking to the water in 2019.

This year, their 32nd ever event, begins at 11am sharp after meeting opposite Aldeburgh Moot Hall at 10.45am.

The event is completely free to enter but swimmers are encouraged to get as many sponsors and raise as much as possible for the Aldeburgh Shiverers' chosen charities.

People who aren't as keen on the cold can watch from the beach and donations are also welcomed there.

Felixstowe Christmas Day Dip

The 2021 Felixstowe Christmas Day Dip will be the 17th year of the swim with all proceeds going to St Elizabeth Hospice.

With around 500 swimmers each year, the event promises a "fantastic atmosphere as everyone gathers to run in to the sea."

Those wishing to join in the fun should pre-register for the event as there will be no registration on the day this year.

Standard registration costs £13 each and closes on Thursday at midday.

Swimmers will meet from 8.30am opposite Mannings Amusements on the seafront. The dip will take place at 10am.

Southwold Christmas Day Swim

This year marks the 10th Southwold Christmas Day Swim, an event that many residents have adopted into their festive traditions.

Run by the Rotary Club of Southwold and District, the swim is sponsored by DS Watson, Walkers.Style and Willcox Law Ltd.

Charities that donations will be donated to this year are Brain Tumour Research, Southwold RNLI and Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS)

Registration for the event is open and swimmers will meet at Gun Hill beach for a 10.30am dip on the big day.
