Fire crews called to blaze in kitchen at Lowestoft house




Firefighters were called to a blaze in a Lowestoft house this morning.

Two crews from Lowestoft and one from Beccles responded to the fire, in Kent Road at about 10.21am, which was reported after a smoke alarm was activated and smoke could be seen coming from the ground floor of the property.

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews arrived on the scene quickly and extinguished the fire. Crews stayed to dampen down the area."

According to a post on the Lowestoft South Fire Station Twitter, firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze in the kitchen.
