Firefighters tackle large blaze at industrial unit in Pinbush Road, Lowestoft

Firefighters are currently tackling a large blaze at an industrial estate.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to Alan Cook Removals, in Pinbush Road, Lowestoft, at about 12.30am.

Ten crews are using hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze, which has affected half of the industrial unit, measuring 30m x 50m.

Residents living nearby are advised to keep all windows and doors shuts due to ongoing smoke in the area, particularly in the Lowestoft South Industrial Estate.

A spokesperson for the fire service said ‘good progress’ has been made, but crews are expected to be on the scene for a significant part of the day.
