A12 reopens at junction with A144 following two vehicle collision at Darsham

A section of a major Suffolk road has reopened this evening following a collision which left the route blocked in both directions.

Emergency services were called to reports of a crash involving two vehicles on the A12 at Darsham, at the junction of Halesworth Road and the A144, at about 2.40pm.

A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said the collision involved a Vauxhall Astra and a Ford Galaxy Ghia, which left vehicle in a ditch and another in a layby. A third vehicle, a Toyota Yaris, was also damaged, although it was not directly involved in the collision.

She said an ambulance was called to the incident, but it is not thought that anyone was seriously injured.

Closures had been put in place and drivers were advised to use an alternative route, but, as of about 5.10pm, the road has now reopened.
