A man who was arrested on suspicion of stalking women in Lowestoft has been released on bail, police have revealed.

This comes as two women from the town wrote in a social media group that they had found notes left on their car windows asking if they wanted a date.

Officers who were investigating the situation arrested a 57-year-old man on suspicion of stalking.

He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The original public social media post by the victims describing the notes, which was posted to the Facebook group 'Lowestoft One Hell of a Town', has since been removed.

Police are appealing for anyone who also received the note to contact them via EastCID@suffolk.pnn.police.uk.

They also urge anyone who still has the note to retain it as evidence and try to handle it as little as possible.
