Man assaulted in High Street, Lowestoft, as Suffolk Police appeal for witnesses




A man has suffered neck and head injuries and left a trail of blood behind him after he was assaulted in central Lowestoft.

The incident was this morning in High Street at around 1.35am.

The victim, a man in his 30s, met a group of people he knew to try and resolve a previous grievance.

Following a conversation, the victim went to walk away when three men assaulted him.

A police spokesperson said the men used some type of club or stick and possibly a knife to hit the man on his head and neck.

The victim then walked away with another man from outside Istanbul Chef towards the Jubilee filling station leaving a trail of blood on the pathway.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

The victim called police to report the incident and received treatment at hospital, however his injuries are not life threatening.

Inquiries are on-going to locate and arrest the suspects, who are thought to be known to the victim.
